Candied Limbs are a duo of Cat Hope (bass, analogue effects) and Lindsay Vickery (bass clarinet, digital effects) formed in 2005.“two of the most dynamic noise artists in Australia" Express Magazine, 20 Sept 07
Candied Limbs make free improvised noise like you will have never heard before. Bass drones intermingle with warm bass clarinet tones that are in turn mutilated by maxMSP processing. Harsh high pitch screams mix with warm subtle bass tones filled inbetween with mangled, spliced, extended, percussive and chordal environments. Animated in performances that can go from 20 minutes to an hour without a break, Candied Limbs don’t sugar coat it.
Candied Limbs have supported the likes of doom duo KTL, Japanese guitar king Tetuzi Akiyama, and power noise giant KK Null and have collaborated with artists such as Jon Rose, Darren Moore, Gail Priest, George Chua and others. In 2005 they featured at the New Directions Festival at Theatreworks in Singapore and in 2010 they toured to Melbourne and Sydney.
They have one release, 'subproject 84' which you can order here.
