November includes a few Cat Hope work premieres and talks around the country. November starts with a new piece for Vanessa Tomlinson, in her live to air concert as part of Australian music week on ABC Classic FM, 8 Hits on Saturday November. You can listen in on line or on your wireless if you are not in Brisbane! The piece is entitled 'Broken Approach'. On November 6, Cat Hope's collaboration withKate McMillan, The Moment of Disappearance will be opened at Carriageworks, Sydney at 7pm, as part of The Performance Space's Buruwan Island program . An extended Decibel will perform the work live, that runs in the installation as a recording made in London last year, with the London Improvisers Orchestra. Cat will also give an artist talk about the music for the installation on Thursday 20 November. You can book here. A new work will be performed by Decibel at the After Julia concert, also a live to air ABC Classic FM broadcast on November 8, at 8pm. You can attend the concert, which will feature the Hon. Julia Gillard herself, in Sydney - rsvp essential, a 7.30pm seating time. The piece is entitled 'Tough It Out'. Decibel will then tour to Melbourne performing two shows. Inner Space - The Giacinto Scelsi Project will feature a piece of Cat's, Sogno 102, at the Melbourne recital centre Salon on 10 November at 6pm. You can book here. Then its time for Adelaide. Cat has written a piece for the Zephyr String Quartet and theremin, Wall Drawings, that will be premiered at thier Strings and iThings concert at 8pm at the ABC 520 Studio. You can get tickets here. But wait! There's more! On the afternoon of the 21st of November, Cat will give an artist talk in Hobart, Tasmania at Contemporary Arts Tasmania. And expect a performance of theEnd of Abe Sada by the Australian Bass Orchestra at the opening of the 2015 Now Now in late November. | |
